A WhatsApp QR code stores a wa.me link. The phone opens WhatsApp with your number ready, and any greeting you added already sitting in the message box. The person still taps send. The square does not message them by itself.
Write the number
- Country code first, then the number. A US number looks like
15551234567. A UK mobile looks like447911123456. - Digits only. Leave out
+, spaces, dashes, and a leading0. - Use the number that actually has WhatsApp. A landline that is not on WhatsApp will not open a chat.
Make the code
- Open the QR code generator and choose the WhatsApp tab.
- Paste the digits. Add a short greeting if you want one, such as “Hi, I have a question about my order.”
- Generate the code and download the PNG.
- Scan it with a phone that has WhatsApp. The chat should open to your number before you print.
Print it
- Leave a light margin around the square and do not stretch the image.
- Use a dark code on a light background.
- Add a label such as “Scan to message us on WhatsApp.”
- The image is static. A new number, or a new greeting, needs a new code.
