A storage-bin QR code is usually a link, not a photo of the contents. Put a short list on a page you control, paste that address into the QR generator, and stick the image on the bin. When you add or remove items, edit the page. The printed code stays the same as long as the address does.
Link, or plain text
- Link when the list will change: seasonal clothes, a garage shelf, a shared storage unit.
- Text when the label is fixed, such as “Winter coats” or a bin number. A text code does not need a website, and it cannot be updated later.
One bin, or a whole wall
- For a single bin, open the generator, choose URL or Text, and download the PNG.
- For many bins, put one address or label per row and use the bulk QR generator. Download the ZIP and print the set together.
- Scan one label with your phone before you stick the rest on.
Make it readable on a shelf
- Print at least 2×2 cm, larger if the shelf is high.
- Leave a light margin. Do not cover the three corner squares with tape.
- Use a dark code on a light background. Clear tape over a pale code can glare; test it.
